Can you help identify this person?

Detectives from the City of London Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with a robbery at Coral bookmakers on Holborn Viaduct.

A man entered the bookmakers at 17.30 on Sunday, 22 October 2017, and assaulted a member of staff before taking cash from the till and running in the direction of the Old Bailey.

CCTV images were captured at the store and officers from the City of London Police are keen to speak to anybody who recognises the man in the photos.

Since the incident took place, officers have carried out extensive investigations, including viewing CCTV from the near-by area, and speaking to neighbouring police forces. Now they are asking the public for their help.

Detective Constable Matthew Birt, who is leading the investigation for the City of London Police, said:

“We’d like to hear from anyone who recognises the man in this image as we believe he may be able to help us further this investigation.

“Robbery and theft are very significant crimes and ones we take seriously in the City. Not only is there a financial impact on the victim but in most cases, an emotional one also.

“There are severe consequences for those who engage in violence. Crimes of violence are thankfully rare in the City but we are not complacent and will work with partners and businesses to reduce violent crime.”

If you can help the investigation, please contact the City of London Police by calling 020 7601 2222. You can also report crime to us online or by dialing 101 . Or report crime anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In an emergency dial 999.
