IPCC investigation into Borough Market incident complete - City of London Police statement

A City of London Police spokesman said:

“We are proud of the actions of our officers and staff and how they all responded to the London Bridge terrorist attack.

“The incident demonstrated the fantastic training that our firearms officers receive, which enabled them to go forward automatically to mitigate the threat.

“These officers went towards danger without any thought for their own safety, and their quick and decisive actions undoubtedly prevented further loss of life.

“The response to this attack shows that our interoperability with our colleagues in the Metropolitan Police and BTP is seamless and demonstrates the pan-London response that is available to protect the capital when required.

“This IPCC investigation looked at the circumstances of the shootings of these three individuals as well the serious gunshot injury sustained by one member of the public in the vicinity, as a result of a ricochet.

“This investigation was focused upon the actions and decisions of the firearms officers involved. There were no adverse findings against any officers from any force.

"Further questions in relation to the IPCC investigation should be requested from the IPCC investigators.”
