Can you help identify this man?

Detectives from the City of London Police have released an image of a man they are looking to speak to in connection with a theft at Haz Restaurant on Bishopsgate.

A handbag was stolen from the back of a diner’s chair on Tuesday 1st August 2017, and the victim’s bank cards were then used in a number of stores in the Elephant and Castle area.

CCTV images were captured at the stores and officers from the City of London Police are keen to speak to anybody who recognises the man in the photos.

Police Constable Jason Theobald, who is leading the investigation, said:

“We’d like to hear from anyone who recognises the man in this image as we believe he may be able to help us further this investigation.

“Theft is a significant crime and one we take seriously in the City. Not only is there a financial impact on the victim but in most cases, an emotional one also.

"It’s important the public keep an eye on their belongings at all times and report any suspicious activity to the Police.”

If you can help the investigation, please contact the City of London Police by calling 020 7601 2222. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
