Two people have been arrested for drug offences after a warrant was executed at a City of London bar.

Detectives from the City of London Police Major Crime Team carried out the search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at the Dion bar in Paternoster House, St Paul’s Churchyard (EC4) on Wednesday (16 August 2017) at around 8pm.

As a result of the operation, two people were arrested, including –

• A 34-year-old woman from Vauxhall, south London, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and one count of possession of class A drugs. She has subsequently been charged and is due to appear at City of London Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 17 August 2017;

• A 32-year-old man from Newham, east London, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and has been released under investigation.

Detective Constable Brendan Kennedy said: “This operation undertaken by the City of London Police Major Crime Team involves serious allegations which will be investigated fully.

“The sale and supply of illegal drugs will not be tolerated anywhere in the City, including within pubs and bars, and we will use a range of tactics to stop anybody involved in this criminality and bring them to justice.”
