Police appeal for information after man glassed outside City pub

Officers from the City of London Police have today released CCTV footage of a number of people they would like to speak to in connection with an unprovoked assault on an innocent bystander outside a pub, earlier this year.

The incident, in which an unidentified man threw a glass at another man, leaving him with a large wound to his face and needing stitches, happened on Thursday 10 October 2019, outside Jamaica Wine Bar on St Michaels Alley, at approximately 09.23pm.

DC Chris Arnold, from the City of London Police, said:

“The victim in this case was enjoying an evening out with his friends and, through no fault of his own, ended up needing a trip to hospital.

“The suspect was dangerously reckless and gave no thought to the consequences of his actions. We are appealing to the public for any information that may help us identify him, or any of the people he was with, on the evening in question.”

If you have any information that could help officers progress this investigation, please contact the City of London Police by calling 101 and quoting the reference 19*542855. Alternatively, people can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously via their website or by calling 0800 555 111.
