Appeal for witnesses after serious road traffic collision

Officers from the City of London Police are appealing for witnesses after a 67-year-old man was seriously injured in a collision with a cyclist when crossing the road on King William Street, near to Monument tube station, at approximately 17.00hrs on Thursday 24 October 2019.

He was knocked to the ground and lost consciousness. The man remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Sergeant Pete Talbot, from the City of London Roads Policing Unit, said:

“This incident happened at an exceptionally busy time, both on the roads and in terms of pedestrians in the area. We would like to ask anyone who may have witnessed this tragic incident to get in touch with us.

“We are particularly keen to speak to any road users who were in the area at the time and have dashcams or cameras fitted to their car or bike. You may have captured footage which could really assist our investigation.”
