Back to list Service & repair 07 Aug 2019 08:48 DO YOU RECOGNISE THIS MAN? Police ask for public’s help in identifying brazen pickpocket thief Officers from the City of London Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a pickpocket, after they released CCTV footage of the man stealing both a wallet and a phone from an unsuspecting victim. The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday 22 June 2019, outside the Snow and Rock store at the bottom of King William Street (EC4), just before London Bridge. Police are asking anyone with information about the identity of the thief to contact them on 020 7601 2999, quoting reference number 19*321665. DC Steven Bailey, from the City of London Police, said: “This CCTV footage shows exactly how innocent members of the public can be momentarily distracted and end up with their valuables being stolen. “Pickpocket thieves can often look very unassuming and move remarkably quickly. “It is common for people to think they would be too clever to fall for a trick such as this, but if you have your valuables on display, or clearly protruding from your pockets, you are putting yourself at risk. “We would encourage people visiting the City, especially those who are here to enjoy our vast array of pubs, bars and clubs, to keep an eye on their belongings at all times. Anyone with any information about this particular incident should contact police.” Alternatively information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers via their website or by calling 0800 555 111.
