APPEAL - Identity of man sought after young woman knocked unconscious in nightclub

Officers from the City of London Police have today (Friday 17 May 2019) released images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a violent assault that took place last year.

The attack on a female in her 20’s took place on 11 November 2018 at approximately 04.20 at the Tunnel Club on Jewry Street (EC3). The victim was knocked unconscious in the club and was subjected to a further assault while she lay defenceless on the ground.

Officers are now asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who is key to their investigation.

Detective Constable Robin Norris, from the City of London Police, said:

“This was a horrific attack on a young woman who has been left traumatised by the incident.

“The assault took place in a busy club and was undoubtedly witnessed by a number of people.

“We know someone out there will be able to identify the man in the picture we have released today and we would urge them to pick up the phone and speak to us.”

Anyone with any information about the attack, or the identity of the man in the picture released today, should contact police on 0207 601 2999. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers via their website or by phoning 0800 555 111.
